Simply heat up ( warm, careful, don’t burn yourself ) some extra virgin olive oil, massage into the scalp and allow to sit for 30 minutes. Yes, you will look greasy and messy for a while but it’s worth it. After 30 minutes, shampoo and rinse your hair. By repeating these steps at least once a week you will achieve optimal results. For some, allowing the olive oil to sit all night while asleep is an easy and preferred method of not fussing 30 minutes later. Since most shower in the morning before their daily routine, this option may work best for you.

Tea Tree Oil. Known for it’s many uses, is also an excellent property to treating your dandruff problem. Add a few drops of this very diversified agent to your shampoo. Be extremely careful NOT to ingest this. Tea Tree Oil has been known to create allergic reactions if ingested.

White Vinegar. White vinegar. Known by many as the ” jack of all trades ” is a proven and very effective remedy in treating stubborn dandruff. Use 2 part vinegar to 3 to 4 parts of water, mix it and wash your hair with this for about 4 minutes. Not only will it take the itch away but also get rid of the flakes. Another method is to soak your hair and scalp in vinegar overnight then washing it out in the morning. This is an effective treatment for extreme conditions of dandruff. Be sure to wrap your head in a towel or shower cap before retiring to bed.

Lemon or Lime juice. Follow the same steps, method preferred as you would with White Vinegar only leave on for a total of 15 minutes. Be sure to condition your hair well after this use as it is known to dry out the hair.

Listerine. Soak your hair in listerine and allow to stay on for about 10 minutes then rinse and wash. If your head begins to sting shorten the duration of time.

Aloe Vera Gel. About 10 minutes before showering soak your scalp and hair in aloe vera gel. Rinse and wash. This is also a very effective treatment naturally for dandruff.

For the most unexpected all natural, straight from your medicine cabinet, cost effective approach to treat dandruff …. aspirin. Chop up 2 or 3 aspirin and add it to your 8 oz bottle of shampoo and watch the flakes rinse away. Be sure to rinse thoroughly as any leftover aspirin may irritate your skin later.
